Ever happened that you don't seem to understand a movie with a foreign language ? Subtitles are the solution. This guide will show how to play or combine movies with subtitles !

    1) GUIDE TO PLAY/COMBINE MOVIES WITH SUBTITLES

    1) PLAY MOVIES WITH SUBS

    This is how:

1.First u'll need a media player that can play subtitles(I recommend BSplayer cuz u can also edit subtitles wit it)
BSplayer can be downloaded for free here:
    http://www.bsplayer.org/en/bs.player/download/

    OR

    Media Player Classic

    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...er_Classic.htm

2.WHen playing a movie with subtitles remember that both, the movie and the subtitle, have to be named the same!(jus not the format)

    Example:
    Movie:
    Scary.movie.4[2006]-DvdriP.avi

Then the subtitles must be named:
    Scary.movie.4[2006]-DvdriP.srt(or .sub/.txt etc.)

3.After u've done that jus sit back and Enjoy the movies:D

Good sites for downloading subtitles are:

    www.subscene.com

    http://www.divxsubtitles.net/

    http://www.opensubtitles.org/

    http://www.subtitles.cz/

2 ) Combine a movie and subtitle(Watch on dvd player)

    1. U need to download a software called "Pocketdivxencoder"
    Can be dl here here:

    http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net/

    2. Put your movie(avi.mpg.rmvb etc) and your subtitle ( .srt, .txt, .sub) in the same folder

    3. Open Pocketdivxencoder-->It'll ask u to choose output format something, jus choose HOMECINEMA(the one to the right)
Click ADD movie-->open your movie-->It'll say: "A subtitle was detected, do u want to encode it with the movie, CLICK YES
Then in the middle can see QUALITY-->Set it to whatever u want(my video's at 85 and audio: 7)-->CLICK encode-->Wait 30min or whatever it takes(dpends on movie size)

    4. Now u should have a brand new movie WITH subs included. Now u can convert the movie to DVD format with winavi and burn to dvd and ENjoy a good movie with subs!

    3) FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS/ FAQS ABOUT MOVIES

.im a new here and i want to watch the movie that you posted. But what should i do?

first, download all the given links and Make sure you have downloaded all the parts of the split file into the same folder on your pc.(if you havent go all the parts of the file, winrar/winzip will ask you for the next part before the file will open properly.)

    ################################################## #################

2.I just only want to download 1 movie but why there are so many files?

People split the file into smaller pieces so that they can be uploaded to megaupload, rapidshare or any other free file hosting with a limited upload file size.if you successfully downloaded the file and extract it the output would be a 1 large file.

    ################################################## #################

    3.what is .SFV Files?

Well I have found out that many people do not even use SFV files, They dont even know what they are for. Their purpose is to verify the integrity of all the files using a CRC check. Since split RAR/ZIP files cannot be modified once created (without corrupting them) this is very usefull on this type of file. Any modification in size or structure to the file, usually when your modem messes the data up, will cause the CRC check to fail.

You can easily verify your downloaded files using a special program and the SFV file. The best one I have found is QuickSFV, so download that and install it. Let it associate with at least SFV and whatever else you want. Now all you need to do is double click the SFV and it starts checking the files, simple as that.

Still confused? Ok,lets say i have successfully downloaded all the 3 parts of 1 movie. Now, how do i know which RAR/ZIP files is corrupt and which file is not..Take a look at the screenshot..click the image to ENLARGE..

    scenario 1:
Let say ive successfully downloaded all the parts including the .sfv file..

Using my quicksfv creator/checker ..i right click the .sfv file and select "VERIFY ALL"....

Once The Checking is done, here is the result..

All files were Okay,Now im ready to extract the file without the problem..

    scenario 2:

Let say ive successfully downloaded all the parts including the .sfv file..

Using my quick sfv creator/checker i scan the file for bad, missing or perfect file. Now here is the result..LOOK!

After all the checking i found out that there is 1 file is corrupted and because of that..NOW I KNOW WHICH FILE THAT I AM GOING TO REDOWNLOAD..

    DOWNLOAD EASY SFV CREATOR/CHECKER HERE

    Code:
    http://www.downseek.com/download/15865.asp

I saw a member posting a links to download a movie and it comes with this word " MD5:7A224044BDDBEAD2930151945B02176C " what the hell is that mean?

To make the story short,md5 is also like sfv,it check the integrity of files.
Goto http://beeblebrox.org/software.php and download and install the HashTab Shell Extension..
    SAMPLE:

    Code:
    http://th3zone.com/downloads/test123.zip
    MD5:8264E3B20375825630F777BB04B1B76F

I download the file and md5 was given.Using my md5filehash checker. This is now the result..

    FAQS

Q.I DOWNLOAD ALL THE FILES AND WHEN I EXTRACT IT,IT SAY FILE IS CORRUPT OR MISISNG..WHAT SHOULD I DO?

IF THE FILE COMES WITH SFV THEN SCAN IT,SO YOU SHOULD KNOW WHICH FILE IS NEEDED TO REDOWNLOAD..THATS THE ADVANTAGE OF SFV .iNSTEAD OF DOWNLOADING ALL THE PARTS AGAIN,YOU WILL NOW KNOW WHICH PARTS OF THE RAR/ZIP SPLIT FILES IS NEEDED TO DOWNLOAD AGAIN..

Q:WHAT IF THE FILE DOESNT HAVE SFV OR MD5..WHAT SHOULD I DO?

A:UMMM..GOOD QUESTION..MAY BE YOU SHOULD ASK THE UPLOADER AND ASK FOR THE SFV OR MD5 OF THE FILE

Q:I TRIED A MILLION TIME TYPING THE RIGHT RAR OR ZIP PASSWORD AND IT KEEP SAYING THE PASSWORD IS IN CORRECT..WHAT SHOUL I DO?

A:CHECK THE SFV OR MD5HASH,CUZ MAY BE THE FILE IS CORRUPTED...

    Q:WHY AM I RECIEVING A CORRUPTED FILES?WHY DO ZIP/RAR FILES BECOMES CORRUPTED?
A:FOR SO SO MANY REASON.BUT TRUST ME THE FILES ON THE SERVER ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION..BUT SOMETIMES SHIT HAPPEN,THE FILES BECOMES CORRUPTED DURING THE DOWNLOAD PROCESS(DATA TRANSFER)..BROWSE THIS SITE AND YOU WILL NOTICE 1 MEMBER SAYING FILE IS CORRUPT! AND ANOTHER MEMBER WOULD SAY"NO! ITS NOT I ALREADY WATCH THAT MOVIE LAST NIGHT..1 MEMBER WILL SAY " PASS IS INCORRECT! AND ANOTHER MEMBER WOULD SAY NO! ITS NOT! IVE SUCCESSFULLY EXTRACTED THE FILE WITHOUT A PROBLEM..

    what is .NFO/.Diz Files?

So you have this NFO and Diz file... well what are they for? Normally NFO files are associated with the Mcft Info Viewer. If you double click a warez NFO if will tell you it's corrupted. Actually the file is just a txt file with a different extension and usually some ASCII art. The NFO has all the info about the app/game in it, including burn/install instructions and a serial number if needed. The Diz file is just like a file tag, usually just with the application name and the release groups name. If you right click and open it in notepad you can see the text and read about the program, but to see the full beauty of a NFO you need a special font that displays the ASCII properly. The best way is to just use a special application which is just like notepad but will use this special font, that way you don't have to switch your notepad font around. So, if you haven't already, download and install GetDiz. It doesn't really take any setting up, just let it associate with NFO and Diz when it installs. You should now be able to double click a NFO file and see all the ASCII art the way its meant to be seen.

YOU CAN GET YOUR FREE NFO VIEWER HERE:

    Code:

    ################################################## #################

I've successfully downloaded and extract the file, but when I try playing them with my Media Player I only get the audio - no video (OR, Only Video But No Audio).

You probably don't have the proper codec installed on your machine.Download and installed the K-LITe Codec Pack..K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of codecs and related tools. Codecs are required to encode and/or decode (play) audio and video. The K-Lite Codec Pack is designed as a user-friendly solution for playing all your movie files. With the K-Lite Codec Pack you should be able to play 99% of all the movies that you download from the internet.Make sure you get the latest version..You can download the klite codec pack by visiting any of this site.

    Code:
    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
    http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm
    http://www.codec-download.com/

    option 2
if you dont want to installed the klite codec pack then i suggest that you download and install Video Lan.VideoLAN is an excellent multimedia player with it's own plugins for playing different formats, so it doesn't need any codecs to be installed. It also works great for previewing partially downloaded files too.

    Code:
    http://www.videolan.org/

    ################################################## #################

after i extracted the file, what ive got is .bin and .cue?what are this file anyway?

    *.bin
    *.cue
These file extensions are commonly used to show that a file is an image of a CD or DVD.

(OPTION 1) The most simple way to access these files is to use your CD or DVD Burner to burn them to a disk. Nero is a common program that is used to burn bin/cue files to hard media.
    tutorial can be found here..

    Code:
    http://th3zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4613

(OPTION 2) Alcohol and Daemon Tools are excellent software packages that allow users to mount BIN/CUE files as virtual CD-ROMs. Yes, there is a way to use that BIN/CUE without burning it to a disk

    Code:
    http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/announcements.php
    http://www.alcohol-soft.com/

(OPTION 3) download AND INSTALL Video LAN,Its a free piece of software that allows you to drag/drop the .bin file onto its player.(THE BEST OPTION)

    Code:
    http://www.videolan.org/

    ################################################## #################

I've successfully downloaded a foreign movie here and it has a subtitles(.sub).How can I make it play subtitles at the same time as the movie is rolling?

There is a program called vobsub that you could try to figure out.

    Code:
    http://www.divx-digest.com/software/vobsub.html

OR install BSPlayer, then put the .sub file in the same directory/folder which your video/movie file is in. Now open BSPlayer and enable subtitles. Also make sure your .sub file has the same name as your video/movie file. BSPlayer itself pretty much has other hints & tips for this.
Or open up VideoLan Player, click menu setting/Preferences/Video/Subtitles then click browse and locate your subtitle file, click save,Ok,load the movie and watch!

    ################################################## #################

How do I capture an image from a movie in Mcft Windows Media Player?

The simple tutorial can be found here.

    Code:
    http://th3zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6099

Or the other easy way you can do that is Open up your Videolan Player, load the movie, while the movie is playing right click the screen, select Snapshot and it will automatically save into your "My Documents/My Pictures" THE EXTENSION IS IN PNG FORMAT.

    4) RIPPING / BURNING GUIDES

    Ripping

Ripping is a process of shredding a huge dvd movie file ( .VO to a more compact format ( .avi, .mp4, .divx )

E.G: A dvd may be of the size of 4.7 GB or even 7 -8 GB in some cases.
Its dvd rip can be of the size of 700 MB or 2 cd of 700 MB, depending on its Release Group ( DiAMond, aXXo, FxM, Mvs, etc )
Ripping a movie saves a lot of space and makes it easier to upload / download.

Tools needed to rip a movie:

    IMTOO DVD RIPPER

    Code:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/34869451/Imtoo.DVD.Ripper.Platinum.v4.0.75.0514.WinALL-NoPE.rar

    MOVIE COPY PROTECTIONS :

When you buy/ lend original movies, there is a copy protection which prevents you from making a backup copy of the original movie.

That really sucks but one solution exists to solve this problem in a glance. Some programs remove the copy protections and enable you to burn a backup copy on dvd.

Tools needed to remove copy-protection :

    ANY DVD

    Code:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/39204998/AnyDVD.HD_v6.1.6.5with.crack.rar

    InterVideo DVD Copy Platinum

    Code:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/26137706/InterVideo_DVD_Copy_Platinum_5.5_Build_000.04C00.rar.html

Steps To Copy A Store Bought DVD using ANYDVD

    1 - Start AnyDVD
2 - Place Store-Bought DVD into DVD Burner
3 - Start DVD Xcopy Platinum
    4 - Click on SETTINGS
5 - Select DVD Burner (make sure Lite-On is Highlighted)
6 - Click on SAVE AS DEFAULT
    7 - Click on ADVANCED
8 - on bottom click on 3rd button from left (will put check marks in ALL boxes)
    9 - Click NEXT

if your copying a regular DVD it will start reading it now
if your copying a Dual-Layer DVD Continue to step 10

10 - Click NEXT (until it does start reading DVD)
11 - It will beep and open Drive When Done Reading (approx. 8 - 15 minutes)
12 - Insert Blank DVD in SAME DVD Burner / Drive
13 - Click START (it will become clickable as soon as drive spins down)
14 - It will beep and open Drive When Done Writing (approx. 10 minutes)
15 - put DVD (that you just burned) in DVD Player to test

    SHRINKING 7 - 8 GB DVDs ( DVD9) to standard 4.7 GB DVDs ( DVD-R)

Some original movies are so packed with stuff and goodies that they take 7 - 8 GB. There is a way of shrinking/ reducing the dvd to a 4.7 GB without losing the quality of the movie .

Burning a movie to cd / dvd

Burning consists of making a backup of a movie to either a cd or dvd. A dvd rip ( 700 M can be easily burnt on a standard 700 MB CD-R / CD-RW.

    Burning a complete movie requires a dvd-r or dvd-rw.

Tools needed to burn a movie to cd/dvd :

    MAGIC ISO MAKER

    Code:

    5) Guide To Understanding The Jargon Of Movie Releases

This great FAQ should be helpful for all the n00bs who are wondering what telesync, CAM, screeners etc are...

    Sources

    CAM -

A cam is a theater rip usually done with a digital video camera. A mini tripod is sometimes used, but a lot of the time this wont be possible, so the camera make shake. Also seating placement isn't always idle, and it might be filmed from an angle. If cropped properly, this is hard to tell unless there's text on the screen, but a lot of times these are left with triangular borders on the top and bottom of the screen. Sound is taken from the onboard microphone of the camera, and especially in comedies, laughter can often be heard during the film. Due to these factors picture and sound quality are usually quite poor, but sometimes we're lucky, and the theater will be fairly empty and a fairly clear signal will be heard.

    TELESYNC (TS) -

A telesync is the same spec as a CAM except it uses an external audio source (most likely an audio jack in the chair for hard of hearing people). A direct audio source does not ensure a good quality audio source, as a lot of background noise can interfere. A lot of the times a telesync is filmed in an empty cinema or from the projection booth with a professional camera, giving a better picture quality. Quality ranges drastically, check the sample before downloading the full release. A high percentage of Telesyncs are CAMs that have been mislabeled.

    TELECINE (TC) -

A telecine machine copies the film digitally from the reels. Sound and picture should be very good, but due to the equipment involved and cost telecines are fairly uncommon. Generally the film will be in correct aspect ratio, although 4:3 telecines have existed. A great example is the JURASSIC PARK 3 TC done last year. TC should not be confused with TimeCode , which is a visible counter on screen throughout the film.

    SCREENER (SCR) -

A pre VHS tape, sent to rental stores, and various other places for promotional use. A screener is supplied on a VHS tape, and is usually in a 4:3 (full screen) a/r, although letterboxed screeners are sometimes found. The main draw back is a "ticker" (a message that scrolls past at the bottom of the screen, with the copyright and anti-copy telephone number). Also, if the tape contains any serial numbers, or any other markings that could lead to the source of the tape, these will have to be blocked, usually with a black mark over the section. This is sometimes only for a few seconds, but unfortunately on some copies this will last for the entire film, and some can be quite big. Depending on the equipment used, screener quality can range from excellent if done from a MASTER copy, to very poor if done on an old VHS recorder thru poor capture equipment on a copied tape. Most screeners are transferred to VCD, but a few attempts at SVCD have occurred, some looking better than others.

    DVD-SCREENER (DVDscr) -

Same premise as a screener, but transferred off a DVD. Usually letterbox , but without the extras that a DVD retail would contain. The ticker is not usually in the black bars, and will disrupt the viewing. If the ripper has any skill, a DVDscr should be very good. Usually transferred to SVCD or DivX/XviD.

    DVDRip -

A copy of the final released DVD. If possible this is released PRE retail (for example, Star Wars episode 2) again, should be excellent quality. DVDrips are released in SVCD and DivX/XviD.

    VHSRip -

Transferred off a retail VHS, mainly skating/sports videos and XXX releases.

    TVRip -

TV episode that is either from Network (capped using digital cable/satellite boxes are preferable) or PRE-AIR from satellite feeds sending the program around to networks a few days earlier (do not contain "dogs" but sometimes have flickers etc) Some programs such as WWF Raw Is War contain extra parts, and the "dark matches" and camera/commentary tests are included on the rips. PDTV is capped from a digital TV PCI card, generally giving the best results, and groups tend to release in SVCD for these. VCD/SVCD/DivX/XviD rips are all supported by the TV scene.

    HDTV Rip -

Movies / T.V Series ripped from High Definition Televison ( HDTV) . They are of superior and clearer image and sound quality than a normal TV Rip.

    WORKPRINT (WP) -

A workprint is a copy of the film that has not been finished. It can be missing scenes, music, and quality can range from excellent to very poor. Some WPs are very different from the final print (Men In Black is missing all the aliens, and has actors in their places) and others can contain extra scenes (Jay and Silent Bob) . WPs can be nice additions to the collection once a good quality final has been obtained.

    DivX Re-Enc -

A DivX re-enc is a film that has been taken from its original VCD source, and re-encoded into a small DivX file. Most commonly found on file sharers, these are usually labeled something like Film.Name.Group(1of2) etc. Common groups are SMR and TND. These aren't really worth downloading, unless you're that unsure about a film u only want a 200mb copy of it. Generally avoid.

    Watermarks -

A lot of films come from Asian Silvers/PDVD (see below) and these are tagged by the people responsible. Usually with a letter/initials or a little logo, generally in one of the corners. Most famous are the "Z" "A" and "Globe" watermarks.

    Asian Silvers / PDVD -

These are films put out by eastern bootleggers, and these are usually bought by some groups to put out as their own. Silvers are very cheap and easily available in a lot of countries, and its easy to put out a release, which is why there are so many in the scene at the moment, mainly from smaller groups who don't last more than a few releases. PDVDs are the same thing pressed onto a DVD. They have removable subtitles, and the quality is usually better than the silvers. These are ripped like a normal DVD, but usually released as VCD.

    Formats

    VCD -

VCD is an mpeg1 based format, with a constant bitrate of 1150kbit at a resolution of 352x240 (NTCS). VCDs are generally used for lower quality transfers (CAM/TS/TC/Screener(VHS)/TVrip(analogue) in order to make smaller file sizes, and fit as much on a single disc as possible. Both VCDs and SVCDs are timed in minutes, rather than MB, so when looking at an mpeg, it may appear larger than the disc capacity, and in reality u can fit 74min on a CDR74.

    SVCD -

SVCD is an mpeg2 based (same as DVD) which allows variable bit-rates of up to 2500kbits at a resolution of 480x480 (NTSC) which is then decompressed into a 4:3 aspect ratio when played back. Due to the variable bit-rate, the length you can fit on a single CDR is not fixed, but generally between 35-60 Mins are the most common. To get a better SVCD encode using variable bit-rates, it is important to use multiple "passes". this takes a lot longer, but the results are far clearer.

    XVCD/XSVCD -

These are basically VCD/SVCD that don't obey the "rules". They are both capable of much higher resolutions and bit-rates, but it all depends on the player to whether the disc can be played. X(S)VCD are total non-standards, and are usually for home-ripping by people who don't intend to release them.

    DivX / XviD -

DivX is a format designed for multimedia platforms. It uses two codecs, one low motion, one high motion. most older films were encoded in low motion only, and they have problems with high motion too. A method known as SBC (Smart Bit-rate Control) was developed which switches codecs at the encoding stage, making a much better print. The format is Ana orphic and the bit-rate/resolution are interchangeable. Due to the higher processing power required, and the different codecs for playback, its unlikely we'll see a DVD player capable of play DivX for quite a while, if at all. There have been players in development which are supposedly capable, but nothing has ever arisen. The majority of PROPER DivX rips (not Re-Encs) are taken from DVDs, and generally up to 2hours in good quality is possible per disc. Various codecs exist, most popular being the original Divx3.11a and the new XviD codecs.

    CVD -

CVD is a combination of VCD and SVCD formats, and is generally supported by a majority of DVD players. It supports MPEG2 bit-rates of SVCD, but uses a resolution of 352x480(ntsc) as the horizontal resolution is generally less important. Currently no groups release in CVD.

    DVD-R -

Is the recordable DVD solution that seems to be the most popular (out of DVD-RAM, DVD-R and DVD+R). it holds 4.7gb of data per side, and double sided discs are available, so discs can hold nearly 10gb in some circumstances. SVCD mpeg2 images must be converted before they can be burnt to DVD-R and played successfully. DVD>DVDR copies are possible, but sometimes extras/languages have to be removed to stick within the available 4.7gb.

    MiniDVD -

MiniDVD/cDVD is the same format as DVD but on a standard CDR/CDRW. Because of the high resolution/bit-rates, its only possible to fit about 18-21 mins of footage per disc, and the format is only compatible with a few players.

    Misc Info

    Regional Coding -

This was designed to stop people buying American DVDs and watching them earlier in other countries, or for older films where world distribution is handled by different companies. A lot of players can either be hacked with a chip, or via a remote to disable this.

    RCE -

RCE (Regional Coding Enhancement) was designed to overcome "Multiregion" players, but it had a lot of faults and was overcome. Very few titles are RCE encoded now, and it was very unpopular.

    Macrovision -

Macrovision is the copy protection employed on most commercial DVDs. Its a system that will display lines and darken the images of copies that are made by sending the VHS signals it can't understand. Certain DVD players (for example the Dansai 852 from Tescos) have a secret menu where you can disable the macrovision, or a "video stabaliser" costs about 30UKP from Maplin

    NTSC/PAL -

NTSC and PAL are the two main standards used across the world. NTSC has a higher frame rate than pal (29fps compared to 25fps) but PAL has an increased resolution, and gives off a generally sharper picture. Playing NTSC discs on PAL systems seems a lot easier than vice-versa, which is good news for the Brits icon_smile.gif An RGB enabled scart lead will play an NTSC picture in full colour on most modern tv sets, but to record this to a VHS tape, you will need to convert it to PAL50 (not PAL60 as the majority of DVD players do.) This is either achieved by an expensive converter box (in the regions of £200+) an onboard converter (such as the Dansai 852 / certain Daewoos / Samsung 709 ) or using a World Standards VCR which can record in any format.

    News Sites -

There are generally 2 news sites, and I'm allowed to be biased icon_smile.gif For Games/Apps/Console :: isonews.com[ is generally regarded as the best, but for VCD/SVCD/DivX/TV/XXX vcdquality.com displays screen grabs and allows feedback. **NOTICE** neither site offers movie downloads, and requesting movies/trades etc on the forums of either is NOT permitted.

    Release Files

    RARset -

The movies are all supplied in RAR form, whether its v2 (rar>.rxx) or v3 (part01.rar > partxx.rar) form.

    BIN/CUE -

VCD and SVCD films will extract to give a BIN/CUE. Load the .CUE into notepad and make sure the first line contains only a filename, and no path information. Then load the cue into Nero/CDRWin etc and this will burn the VCD/SVCD correctly. TV rips are released as MPEG. DivX files are just the plain DivX - .AVI

    NFO -

An NFO file is supplied with each movie to promote the group, and give general iNFOrmation about the release, such as format, source, size, and any notes that may be of use. They are also used to recruit members and acquire hardware for the group.

    SFV -

Also supplied for each disc is an SFV file. These are mainly used on site level to check each file has been uploaded correctly, but are also handy for people downloading to check they have all the files, and the CRC is correct. A program such as pdSFV or hkSFV is required to use these files.

    Scene Tags

    PROPER -

Due to scene rules, whoever releases the first Telesync has won that race (for example). But if the quality of that release is fairly poor, if another group has another telesync (or the same source in higher quality) then the tag PROPER is added to the folder to avoid being duped. PROPER is the most subjective tag in the scene, and a lot of people will generally argue whether the PROPER is better than the original release. A lot of groups release PROPERS just out of desperation due to losing the race. A reason for the PROPER should always be included in the NFO.

    SUBBED -

In the case of a VCD, if a release is subbed, it usually means it has hard encoded subtitles burnt throughout the movie. These are generally in malaysian/chinese/thai etc, and sometimes there are two different languages, which can take up quite a large amount of the screen. SVCD supports switch able subtitles, so some DVDRips are released with switch able subs. This will be mentioned in the NFO file if included.

    UNSUBBED -

When a film has had a subbed release in the past, an Unsubbed release may be released

    LIMITED -

A limited movie means it has had a limited theater run, generally opening in less than 250 theaters, generally smaller films (such as art house films) are released as limited.

    INTERNAL -

An internal release is done for several reasons. Classic DVD groups do a lot of .INTERNAL. releases, as they wont be dupe'd on it. Also lower quality theater rips are done INTERNAL so not to lower the reputation of the group, or due to the amount of rips done already. An INTERNAL release is available as normal on the groups affiliate sites, but they can't be traded to other sites without request from the site ops. Some INTERNAL releases still trickle down to IRC/Newsgroups, it usually depends on the title and the popularity. Earlier in the year people referred to Centropy going "internal". This meant the group were only releasing the movies to their members and site ops. This is in a different context to the usual definition.

    STV -

Straight To Video. Was never released in theaters, and therefore a lot of sites do not allow these.

    ASPECT RATIO TAGS -

These are *WS* for widescreen (letterbox) and *FS* for Fullscreen.

    RECODE -

A recode is a previously released version, usually filtered through TMPGenc to remove subtitles, fix color etc. Whilst they can look better, its not looked upon highly as groups are expected to obtain their own sources.

    REPACK -

If a group releases a bad rip, they will release a Repack which will fix the problems.

    NUKED -

A film can be nuked for various reasons. Individual sites will nuke for breaking their rules (such as "No Telesyncs") but if the film has something extremely wrong with it (no soundtrack for 20mins, CD2 is incorrect film/game etc) then a global nuke will occur, and people trading it across sites will lose their credits. Nuked films can still reach other sources such as p2p/usenet, but its a good idea to check why it was nuked first in case. If a group realise there is something wrong, they can request a nuke.

NUKE REASONS :: this is a list of common reasons a film can be nuked for (generally DVDRip)

** BAD A/R ** :: bad aspect ratio, ie people appear too fat/thin
** BAD IVTC ** :: bad inverse telecine. process of converting framerates was incorrect.
** INTERLACED ** :: black lines on movement as the field order is incorrect.

    DUPE -

Dupe is quite simply, if something exists already, then theres no reason for it to exist again without proper reason.

    TRUSTED MOVIES RELEASE GROUPS

    6) How to make screencaps

This is a guide on how to easily create and add great looking screenshots to your upload.

The first thing you'll need is:
ImageGrabberII - A brilliant free program:

    Code: ‹ Select ›
    Code:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/29466449/ImageGrabberII.rar

Enter the number of screens shots you would like to take of the movie. A good number for a movie is probably about 15 and you can play around with

this and the number of columns explained in the settings below to see what you like.

When you click OK it will go through the movie taking the screen shots and add them to the timeline across the bottom. You can add individual

selected screenshots by using the scrollbar to move to the picture you want and clicking this button Image to add the current image at the end of the timeline.

Once you have all the pics you want you can arrange the screenshots in the timeline.

    * Right click a screenshot to delete it, delete all or change the text label.

    * Left click a screenshot to drag it to where you want in the timeline.

    Step Two:

    ImageGrabber settings:

Once you have all the screens you want, on the File menu click Save File and you will see the following default settings dialog box:

Layout: Good idea to make the dimensions of each screen (Tile) a fraction of the original to avoid distortion.

Style: Details of the drop shadow around your screens and the background color for your image.

Info: You can include the time each sample was taken in the vid.

JPEG: You can adjust the quality down to reduce the file size say for a full movie with many screens.

Details: You can include the basic movie statistics in the image.

There are plenty of possible configurations, try playing around with different settings until you find a layout you like. Click the save button

and using the settings shown above will produce an image with a layout similar to this:

Once you have your image you may want to resize it or modify it in some way, a nice free and easy to use image viewing/editing tool is irfanview:

    Code: ‹ Select ›
    http://www.irfanview.com/
Now you have your screenshots, the next step is hosting your cool new image.

    Step Three:

    Hosting screenshots:

The are a few free image hosting web sites around and most of them operate the same way. The ones I like are:

    Code:
    imageshack .us/
    photobucket .com/
    1pix.org/

I like to immediately upload my image to both sites & save the links to both & then post originally with imageshack.

If my posts suddenly start showing the "imageshack frog", saying that it has been deleted due to high bandwidth volume, I then replace it with a

photobucket image. I do it this way for two reasons:

1 - Photobucket has a very nice interface where you register (for free of course) & it saves all the images you upload in your personal "album".

Imageshack on the other hand, just lets you upload one image at a time with no registration or account (still free tho of course) & immediately

after uploading the image you get a link to save & then you can never retrieve it, i.e. you have no personal "album" with all the images & links

to them you've ever upploaded. So, while I save the links to both, I post the imageshack ones first. So that way all the initial frenzy of people

clicking on a new post will wear out the imageshack link rather than the photobucket one. I then replace it with photbucket image & the frenzy has

died down by then & there will not be high enough bandwidth for it to be deleted (I have never had a photobucket link deleted using this method,

although I have when I used to use Photobucket on my first posts).

    And

2 - I have had many reports of people in Europe & Asia telling me the Photobucket images take forever to load, even tho they are very quick for me. So that's the other reason I use them second. Note--Imageshack is still a very good service & it takes a LOT of hits for them

to delete it. It only happens to me about 5% - 10% of the time.

    Step One:
    Creating screenshots:

To get started open up your movie in ImageGrabber (supports wmv as well) and the movie will start playing. Click the red stop button and the movie

is open and ready to go. Click this button and the following dialog box will appear:

    7)How to use bin/cue files

    Quote:
    ::..What are they..::
Bin files are image files of the CDs you are trying to get. They are created from various programs. Cue files are basically something that tells burning software like Nero where and how to burn these files. They aren't always needed but they do make things easier.

    How to burn them

Here's what you do (using Nero, using "Frogland" as example). [ give a search on the forum...you will find latest nero program ]

    - Download CDmage and check the bin for errors first. If it finds some it will attempt to correct, but the chance of burning a copy with errors is now higher.

    - Open the .cue with notepad and make sure the filename on line 1 matches the filename you're trying to burn. If you want to reduce the chance of 'line 1' errors, change the filename (and the one in the cue) to something like frogland.bin, instead of one with redundant info like frogland.ripped.by.frogga.sharereactor.(FTC).share _or_be_disconnected.bin [ frongland it just a given example ]

    Quote:
Dont forget to check ur list as following:

    - Do the filenames match now?

    - Are you sure?

    - Put cue and bin in the same directory

    - Start Nero, select "Burn Image" from the 'file' menu (or Recorder, Burn Image in newer versions of Nero)

    - Find the directory with the cue (and bin) in it.

    - Click on da cue

    - Change your burning options (simulation, etc) and click write

    - It burns. You're done!

When I say stupid things to someone who would not think "Huh? Isko problem kya hai?."

Sitting in my balcony on a December morning and eat an orange and squeeze the orange peel in the left eye of my sister. Right eye mein bhee .

Talking to someone who understands me , and accepts me even when I am all boring .

Playing chess with Papa , and beating him at it too . ( We dont do that anymore , he is tired of

Caring for someone I want to care for.
Meeting a bunch of friends over a couple of huge pizzas and crack pathetic jokes about our college professors and why worst guys get the best girls.

Happiness is just , being me .
